The Nativity Scene Scavenger Hunt (El Caganer)

Along with standard nativity figures, Spanish Belénes (nativity scenes) traditionally include a hidden figurine of a Catalan peasant wearing a red hat, with his trousers dropped, defecating on the ground. Finding the Caganer hidden behind a stable or a bush is a festive game, symbolizing good luck and fertilizing the earth. Today, shops sell pooping figurines of famous politicians, football stars, and pop icons.
