The UKHSA issued an urgent warning to British holidaymakers following a sharp rise in cases of cyclosporiasis, an infection caused by a microscopic foodborne parasite. Sixty-seven cases have been confirmed across England, Scotland, and Wales since April, with the vast majority tied to travellers returning from all-inclusive resorts in Mexico. The illness causes severe gastric distress and is typically contracted via contaminated raw salads, herbs, and soft fruits fruit served abroad.
