Defence Ministry Deploys Unmanned Reconnaissance Craft for Testing to Boost Germany Naval Capabilities
The deployment of the Seetaube autonomous vessel marks a major step forward in integrating artificial intelligence into naval operations. During its trial phase, the drone will navigate complex shipping lanes to test its collision-avoidance systems and long-range sensor arrays under harsh maritime conditions. Military commanders intend to use these unmanned platforms to monitor undersea pipelines and communication cables against potential sabotage. If the trials succeed, the navy plans to procure a full fleet of these drones to offset current personnel shortages and expand its surveillance presence.
