Chase Stokes (John B)
- Full name is James Alexander Chase Stokes. Born September 16, 1992, in Annapolis, Maryland. He’s a Virgo.
- He was a serious athlete who planned to play ice hockey professionally until injuries changed his path. He later worked as a lifeguard for years and modeled for Abercrombie & Fitch.
- He almost passed on Outer Banks because he thought it was a Goonies reboot. At the time of the audition he was nearly broke and his mom lent him the money to get there.
- He’s a water guy who grew up surfing and boating. He plays guitar, has written poetry, and is a big dog dad.
- He once randomly asked Madelyn (a stranger at the time) to walk on his back after a long flight. They later dated for about a year.
- He’s shut down plastic surgery rumors, saying he’s completely natural.
- Born December 21, 1997 (Sagittarius). Grew up in Goose Creek, South Carolina, right near where Outer Banks filmed in Charleston.
- She’s a natural brunette who goes blonde for the role. She started with commercials and modeling as a kid (including Chuck E. Cheese).
- She worked at a horse barn as a teenager, which she says built her confidence. Hobbies include photography, drawing, hiking, wakeboarding, and road trips. She’s surprisingly good at volleyball.
- She had a small role in Stranger Things (as Tina) and briefly went to college before dropping out to pursue acting full-time.
- She’s open about mental health and past struggles with disordered eating. She’s also a big fan of buffalo and ranch flavors and has a dog named Rodney.
- Born Joseph Andrew Starkey on November 4, 1993, in Asheville, North Carolina. He’s a Scorpio and the oldest of four siblings. His dad is a college women’s basketball coach.
- He originally auditioned for the role of John B before landing Rafe.
- Extremely outdoorsy and athletic: basketball was his first love (he’s joked he has a bit of Troy Bolton in him), plus mountain biking, climbing, body surfing, fishing, weight-lifting, trap shooting, and he even juggles.
- He plays piano and graduated magna cum laude with degrees in theater and English.
- The cast has said he’s the most “Pogue” of the group in real life, even though he plays a Kook. He’s kept a pretty low-key personal life while building a strong career beyond the show.
