Bumbleton Airport - Episode 13 - The Missing Lighthouse Bulb

A spectacular autumn gale was sweeping across the English Channel, sending fierce gusts of wind howling right through the hangars of Bumbleton Airport. The sea was churning into massive white waves just past the coastal cliffs. Inside the control tower, the radio was buzzing with an urgent, flickering distress signal from the Shimmering Sands lighthouse keeper.

"Great spinning gyroscopes!" Mr. Grumpington shouted, holding his headset tightly against his ear as the wind rattled the tower glass. "The main lighthouse bulb has completely blown, and the backup generator is failing! There is a giant cross-Channel ferry heading straight for the rocks, and they can't see the coast!"
Chief Engineer Barnaby rushed into the tower, holding a massive, fragile glass bulb packed securely inside a thick wicker basket. "I've got the spare bulb right here, Mr. Grumpington, but no vehicle can get down the cliff path in this storm. The road is completely blocked by a fallen elm tree!"
"We must fly it there!" Mr. Grumpington barked, turning to the fleet parked out on the tarmac.
Captain Victor’s massive double-decker frame was swaying uncomfortably in the fierce crosswinds. "I am terribly sorry, sir," Victor rumbled, his engines whistling nervously. "But a jumbo jet of my stature would be blown completely off course by these coastal updrafts. I cannot maintain stability at such a low altitude."
Duchess didn't even turn her engines on. "Fly near jagged cliffs in a gale? Absolutely out of the question. My navigation computers would have a complete aerodynamic fit."
Pip rolled forward, his short, thick yellow wings barely catching the wind compared to the long wings of the big jets. "I'll take it, Chief! I can tuck close to the cliffs where the wind shadows are, and my engines can handle a bit of a tumble!"
