The Christmas Tree "Bandit" Eviction
A family in Portland, Oregon, brought a massive, fresh-cut Douglas fir into their living room and spent hours decorating it with lights and family heirlooms. That night, they were awoken by the sound of breaking glass and rustling branches. Expecting a burglar, they walked into the living room to find the entire tree shaking violently. It turned out a wild raccoon had hitched a ride inside the dense branches from the tree farm and had nested near the top. When animal control officers arrived, the raccoon fiercely resisted eviction, knocking over the entire tree, shattering dozens of ornaments, and tearing through the living room curtains before finally being caught in a net and released back into the wild.
