He built a decoy shipping box equipped with GPS tracking, four smartphones to record the thieves, and an internal motorised spinner filled with ultra-fine holiday glitter and foul-smelling spray. When a thief eventually swiped the box and opened it inside their getaway car, the device detonated, coating the interior of the vehicle in an unremovable layer of festive glitter and a horrific stench.
