The new ownership group of the historic former Cammell Laird shipyard—recently renamed Balaena Birkenhead after a £150 million takeover—has formally responded to the government’s new £15 billion Defence Investment Plan. CEO Simon Gillett confirmed that the yard "stands ready to deliver" state requirements and that existing Ministry of Defence contracts remain unaffected.
