Singapore LTA to Deploy AI Bus Cameras for Traffic Encroachments
The Land Transport Authority will officially launch a new artificial intelligence system on local public transport starting in the fourth quarter of 2026. This advanced software integrates directly with existing onboard bus cameras to automatically detect private vehicles illegally blocking bus lanes. The system will also identify structural road defects like potholes. Initial trials achieved an average accuracy rate of 90 percent, allowing the government to streamline enforcement and speed up municipal repairs.
