United States Federal Judge Blocks Administration Plan to Relocate FBI Headquarters
U.S. District Judge Theodore D. Chuang ruled that the current administration illegally overturned a previous plan to build a new FBI headquarters in Greenbelt, Maryland. The decision halts a proposal by Trump administration appointees to move the agency's staff into the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C.. The lawsuit, brought by the state of Maryland and Prince George's County, successfully argued that the administration could not bypass funds and plans already set by Congress. The existing J. Edgar Hoover Building has been deemed in severe disrepair, making the location battle a critical infrastructure issue.
